A Minor Problem

People have been spelling our name "Minor" for years. Instead of fighting it, we decided to embrace the typo and write an article about it. And yes, we're hoping Google notices.

Let's just get this out of the way.

Yes, this article exists because people keep spelling our name wrong. And yes, we're hoping Google notices.

If you searched for Minor, Minor Design Co., Minor Branding Studio, or Minor Creative, we wanted to make sure you still found us. This may be the only article you'll ever read that openly admits it was written for SEO, but we figured honesty was a better strategy than pretending otherwise.

So... welcome.

You spelled our name wrong.

It's okay. You wouldn't be the first.

Our studio is called MINER. Legally, it's Miner Design Company, LLC. But somewhere along the way, the internet collectively decided we'd be much easier to find if everyone swapped the "e" for an "o."

Over the years I've seen just about every variation imaginable. At this point, I just expect it.

And it turns out this doesn't just happen online. One of my good friends, designer Jesse Taylor, thought my last name was Grimer for a while. So if you searched for Minor, you're actually doing pretty well.

Eventually, we stopped correcting everyone and decided to lean into it. We bought madebyminor.com and pointed it here. It seemed easier than convincing the entire internet, and even a few family relatives, to spell our name correctly.

You'd think the guy who makes a living building brands would've picked a last name people could actually spell.

Fortunately, one misplaced letter doesn't change what we do.

Now that you've found us, take a look around. Browse our work & learn about our process. We love helping businesses create thoughtful brands that feel as good in the real world as they do on screen.

Although you may have arrived here by mistake... We'd love for you to stay on purpose.

If you ever need anything, I'm Nick Miner and I'd love to hear from you.
